  • We just finished our 4th annual Jerry Garcia Birthday Celebration performance at Soulshine in Nashville, TN on July 30th, celebrating the 74th birthday of the man himself. We were joined by the incomparable Essra Mowhawk, who sang with JGB for two years in the early 80's, and Boots Jaffee, who not only spent three decades touring with Merl Saunders as his right hand man, but was the guy making the fireball explosions in the Grateful Dead movie. It was huge fun, packed house, awesome night. Thanks for everyone that came out. We'll be back at Soulshine on October 8, 2016.
  • Next up: Grateful Mondays at Acme Feed and Seed on August 22nd 7-10PM - All Ages, No Cover Charge, Big Fun!
  • On August 27th in Woodbury, TN, Hooteroll? will perform from 6-9 at the Short Mountain Distillery for the 2nd Annual Short Mountain Disc Jam and Music Festival. Original Hooteroll? keyboardist "The Pozz" will be joining us that night, so don't miss this. We will melt faces.

"Merl Saunders and Jerome, as Merl called him, started playing together in small clubs in San Francisco and were accompanied by some of the best side men available and they were always on the lookout for for new talent to work and play with. Mike Lawson befriended Merl and had a long and productive musical friendship - Merl and Jerry both would be very pleased to hear that their arrangements and music continue in the band called Hooteroll? with Mike Lawson at the head - he too finds the best to play with."
